What makes this guitar worth your attention?
I originally bought this guitar because I wanted a great Cherry ES-335, several years before I acquired my original 1960 ES-335. I had my contact at Wildwood select it from several examples, and this was the guitar he recommended because of its acoustic presence. I also liked the movement in the wood grain and the contrast of the Cherry finish against the Historic cream binding.
One of my favorite things about this guitar is the neck. It has the rounded 1959/1960-style profile with slightly wider string spacing, and it just feels right to me. The neck is very stable, the guitar stays in tune, and it’s simply a great player.
Gibson also got a lot of the details right on this model. The BurstBucker pickups sound very good, and the wiring harness uses Black Beauty capacitors and CTS pots. The nickel VOS ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic, with the historically accurate long anchors and studs, is done the way I think it should be. This is a great guitar and a great player.
